JOY ORLEK
WITH WAREHOUSING facilities in Gaborone and Zeerust, Warehousing Services Botswana (WSB) has carved a lucrative niche in the Johannesburg – Botswana logistics market. The success of the operation lies in its speedy turnaround and delivery which relies on a well-oiled warehouse facility. “We operate 24 hours a day, with offloading, sorting, picking and dispatch of stocks carried out according to specific store orders,” says MD Brian Bakeberg. The establishment of a Zeerust depot was a strategic manoeuvre which has already paid dividends, setting the company up as the South African branch of businesses for which it handles all cross-border distribution. Its client list is evidence of the success of the operation. It serves 67 retail outlets - Spar, Score, Shoprite, Pick ‘n Pay and Game among them - while its 46 wholesale outlets include the likes of Metro, Trade Centre, Shield and BEC. Offering the full range of logistics services, WSB provides in-house customs clearance and transport with its own wholly-owned fleet.
