NOMPELO NDZIMELA VIRGIN ATLANTIC Airways’ recent agreement with the Nigerian government to establish Virgin Nigeria is set to create 20 000 indirect jobs via its suppliers and partners at Lagos Airport, according to Virgin chairman Richard Branson quoted by Reuters. Nigerian institutions will own 51% and Virgin Atlantic 49%. The agreement to establish the airline follows the collapse of Nigeria Airways last year after accumulating debts of USD$60 (R385.2m) million.
