NEW VEHICLE exports from South Africa showed a growth of 60% year-on year during the first
five months of 2001, according to the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa).
The official statistics reveal that South African vehicle manufacturers exported 32 099 vehicles between January and May 2001, compared to 19 187 in the same period during 2000. Exports for May were: cars: 7 282; light commercials: 998; and medium, heavy trucks and buses: 32.
