UPS celebrates 100 years

SUPPLY CHAIN major UPS celebrates a major milestone this year – its 100th anniversary. Started in a tiny Seattle office on the US Pacific coast with a US$100 loan, it now serves more than 200 countries worldwide, and operates the world’s eighth-largest airline. UPS has been active in South Africa since the mid 1990s. "One of it founders, Jim Casey, was known for saying: 'Our horizon is as distant as our mind’s eye wishes it to be'," UPS South Africa managing director Paul Horsfall said. “If we stay close to this sentiment, UPS is certain to innovate and grow for another 100 years.”
