UN report predicts positive regional outlook

ANNA COX MAURITIUS, SOUTH Africa, Namibia, and Tunisia are Africa’s most competitive nations. These are the findings published in this year’s Economic Report on Africa 2004 (ERA 2004), published by the UN’s Economic Commission for Africa. Data from African countries that have liberalised their economies show that dynamic trade policies, alongside gradual and targeted liberalisation, are more effective than liberalisation.
