UK-based air cargo industry services provider HAE Group has bought local cargo consolidator Groupair SA for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 1997 as a GSSA, HAE has since expanded its focus and footprint and intends to introduce its GSSA services into the South African market through Groupair.
According to HAE group managing director Martin Sweeney, Groupair will continue to operate under its own identity with its current staff, headed up by Eric Parthesius.
The acquisition is part and parcel of HAE’s growth aspirations on the continent where it already has significant interests in West and East Africa.
