Twala Global sets up training initiative

TWALA GLOBAL Cargo has taken its empowerment initiative to a new level.
The company, set up in partnership with Clover Cargo International, has added a strong training focus to its social responsibility vision, says major shareholder Reuben Dzonzie.
Having recently moved into new premises in Aeroport on the East Rand to accommodate growth, it has set up a training programme for internal and external upliftment.
“We make the facilities available for bridging courses, literacy training, and a range of programmes from elementary education to normal TETA sessions,” says managing director Geoff Partridge.
“The courses are not limited to our own staff, but are made available to clients as well. If you embrace the spirit of empowerment, that’s what you have to do,” says Partridge.
“We’re planning a set of training sessions on incoterms, for example, where we’ll invite our clients to come in and learn about the changes in the industry.”
The concept has been launched in the Gauteng office but will be extended on a national basis.
