SUPPORTING EVENTS such as the Exporter of the Year competition also means supporting the export drive for the Western Cape region, says Jurgen Heynemann, m.d. of TRT Shipping whose company has been a sponsor since the inception of the competition.
It's quite an event each year and we are happy to go along with it, he says. In fact it's part of a tradition as far as we are concerned. We have a large staff dealing with exports, and I inherited the sponsorship when I moved down here six years ago.
It really is a worthwhile cause and we have our major clients as our guests at our table each year. None of our clients has managed to rate among the winners as yet, but we'll be there some day.
