What sounds like a bizarre vision could become reality within the next five to ten years: an ultra-fast Hyperloop vehicle transporting freight containers through airless tubes elevated on pillars all the way between China and Europe.
Elon Musk’s idea for a fast, efficient, and low-cost transportation system may become a reality in Russia before it does so in the US. Los Angeles-based Hyperloop One announced last week that is has formed a partnership with the city of Moscow. A mysterious Russian oligarch is said to be the driving force behind the venture.
The project has just been presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
