Transglobal puts out feelers for Gauteng cargo

A CONTENDER in the SMME stakes (small, medium and micro enterprises), Durban-based forwarder Transglobal Cargo has recently earned its ISO 9002
certification, and is celebrating by moving to newer and bigger premises.
We've outgrown our original address in the centre of the city, says Sugie Govender, chief executive officer for Transglobal, explaining the move in July to 260 Jan Smuts Highway, Westridge. It served us well but now that we've established a stronger client base it's time to expand a little.
Transglobal Cargo has concentrated on niche markets, notably the motor industry.
We've been able to develop an expertise in this particular industry, which has made us specialists in the field. Securing Import Rebate Credit Certificates (IRCCs) on behalf of our importers gives us an added hedge on our competitors. Of course having sole agencies among some top prestige names like Ferrari, Maserati and Chrysler makes quite a difference.
As an SMME Transglobal has taken advantage of opportunities that have come its way, but Govender says this requires even harder work on their part to meet the expectations. Transglobal Cargo is recognised as an approved supplier to such names as Denel, Eskom, Alusaf and Atomic Energy Corporation.
We've tied up an agency agreement with Debeaux Transit as our agents in France, says Govender. Debeaux are a long-established company and they provide us with strong representation throughout Europe. All overseas agents are ISO 9002 accredited.
Transglobal Cargo is looking to attract a wider base of Gauteng clientele, he says. We would like to invite Gauteng clearing & forwarding agents to consider Transglobal as their Durban representative and wholesale clearing agent.
