Transnet Port Terminals has acted with alacrity to disquiet by the Cape Town Harbour Carriers’ Association (HCA) over frequent interruptions in the container terminal’s new Navis system by doubling the initial one day free extension granted. This was confirmed to FTW from Durban over the weekend by Moshe Motlohi, who assumed his new position as Cape Town container terminal executive, also responsible for the MPT, on February 1. TPT had initially offered the association an extra free day, considered unsatisfactory by the Cape Town HCA who feel stoppages have burdened members “with additional costs through no fault of their own”.
