Twenty five years since he hit the freight forwarding road running, Warren Erfmann has decided to take a break, play golf and join the ranks of the retirees. He has resigned as CEO of DSV South Africa with immediate effect. Vice president Peter Larsen has taken over as acting CEO until a replacement can be found. Erfmann will in the meantime be available to assist the management, Larsen said. “It was a fun and exciting career – one which has given me many pleasures and allowed me to travel the world and meet some very interesting people,” Erfmann told FTW. “People usually make a move because they have a better offer or are unhappy in their current positions. For me it’s neither of those. I’m incredibly happy in the job and love the company but feel that after the frenetic pace of the past 25 years, that often included 20-30 international flights a year, it’s time to take a break.”
