SA LOGISTICS major Access has appointed Alyda le Hane as the new chief operating officer of Access Freight International, effective this month. De Hane is the former director, strategic services at UTi and was the driving force behind the establishment of the Supply Chain Council chapter in Southern Africa. She brings to the position over 20 years experience in logistics, distribution solutions and supply chain management over a range of industries, including the retail and automotive sectors. She has worked with several blue chip companies in Southern Africa, developing and enabling supply chain solutions for the likes of DaimlerChrysler, Afrox, Dimension Data, Business Connexion and Energizer. De Hane will be based at the Access operations centre in Pomona, Johannesburg. An accomplished speaker and trainer, she was the first woman as well as the first person from Africa to qualify as a SCOR Instructor in both Framework and Implementation. She is chairperson of the Southern Africa Chapter of the Supply Chain Council and holds an MBA from Henley Management College in the United Kingdom.
