TLD adds abnormal airfreight to portfolio

TRADITIONALLY AN abnormal transporter by road and sea, the Durban-based TLD Group has now added abnormal air transport to its portfolio. The company has teamed up with the Aerotrade Group and is now in a position to fly abnormal cargo - up to 120 tons - anywhere in the world, says MD Tim Driman. The link gives TLD access to the range of freighter aircraft in the Aerotrade fleet comprising the 5.5t Antonov 26; the 20t Antonov 12; the 40t Ilyushin 76; and the world’s largest freighter, the 120t Antonov 124. “We can now offer a multimodal service from the vessel by road to the airport, then by air anywhere in Africa that has a large enough airstrip,” said Driman. The company can also access a range of helicopters in the Aerotrade fleet.
