Cargocare celebrates fifth birthday

AS IT celebrates its fifth birthday, Cargocare m.d. Roland Raath recalls the business starting with a tight-knit team of three.
Now there are 38 in that team, and Raath reveals his vision of: A company of people who are valued, recognised and rewarded - whilst they care, communicate and co-operate.
The company's track record speaks for itself.
Accredited by SAAFF (SA Association of Freight Forwarders) since its inception, Cargocare is now rated ISO 9002 to Dekra European standards.
We also have our own, newly-built premises, said Raath, container pack/unpack; bond store area; and pick-and-pack distribution to 150 destinations every day.
You can add to that customs clearing; forwarding; warehousing; import; export; insurance and free training for clients from our staff - two of whom are MITB (Maritime Industry Training Board) accredited trainers.
The Cargocare branch in Kwa Zulu Natal was opened in April last year - and has been a great success under the leadership of Joe de Villiers, said Raath.
How does he now describe his business, asked FTW - procurement management; supply chain managers; logistics and distribution operation?
Merely buzz words, said Raath. The secret of our business is our guaranteed
programme on import air (same day as flight arrival) and exports by ocean and air. Also knowing our client's business and products well; and selling solutions before price.
