Three suspects arrested after cigarette truck hijacking

The hijacked vehicle was traced to East Road where police arrested three suspects.

Three suspects will appear in court soon on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and goods following their arrest yesterday (Wednesday) after a vehicle carrying cigarettes was hijacked.

A statement on the Arrive Alive website pointed out that the security company traced the vehicle to East Road after it was hijacked in the Jeppe policing area.

The company was assisted by the South African Police Service (Saps) Rapid Response Unit and K9 Unit.

Three suspects were still in the van and were arrested. One suspect shot at the police and managed to escape arrest.
