On 06 December 2024, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) announced the publication of the technical amendments in Part 1 of Schedule No.1 of the Act, 1964 (‘Ordinary Customs Duty’) by the insertion of new 8-digit tariff subheadings under Chapters 8 (Edible Fruit and Nuts; Peel of Citrus Fruit or Melons), 29 (Organic Chemicals), and 72 (Iron and Steel), with effect from 01 January 2025.
