On 30 June 2026, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) announced that the “Prohibited and Restricted Imports and Exports List” had been updated, adding the following tariff subheadings in Chapter 44 “Wood and Articles of Wood; Wood Charcoal” in Schedule No.1 Part 1 of the Customs and Excise Act, 1964 (‘Ordinary Customs Duty’).
