MBABANE – Swaziland’s
border post with
Mozambique at Lomahasha
has had its operating hours
extended by three hours,
and now closes at midnight
instead of its previous closing
at 21:00 The home affairs
ministries of both countries
ironed out policing details
to allow the busy border
crossing to increase its
hours from 13 to 17 daily.
The customs staff of the
respective countries have
also been beefed up to handle
greater goods volumes.
A source with the
Swaziland Ministry of Home
Affairs told FTW their
experience had been that
an increase in border post
operating hours at any of
the country’s main points of
entry and egress led to higher
traffic volumes.
