The maritime tourism
industry has been singled
out as a lucrative area of
focus for East London.
A total of 14 cruise
liners will dock in East
London before the season
draws to a close.
The previous high
was 12 visits during a
single season, which
traditionally stretches
from November until late
April.
“The success of the
2015/2016 season is great
news for the city, and a
huge boost for the Port of
East London’s efforts to
grow maritime tourism
in our region,” says port
manager Jacqueline
Brown.
“Every passenger vessel
that calls in Buffalo City
not only brings with it
the tourism spend of
those passengers on
board, but also the
downstream benefits of
word-of-mouth
marketing and exposure
for our region and
the many tourist
opportunities it presents.
Strong focus on maritime tourism
