It was unlucky 13 for stowaway Aminu Sesay from Sierra Leone when he was nabbed at Tema Port after 13 attempts at escape,
Threatened by the possible ramifications of his actions he tried to enlist the help of local fishermen who were at anchor in order to escape.
“This particular incident was disturbing because he escaped through the help of local fishermen - but when the boat reached our anchorage we intercepted him,” Port Security Manager, Col Joseph Malik Punamane, said.
According to Punamane, the Serra Leonean has attempted stowing away 13 times – and this was his second arrest at Tema port.
Persistence is clearly one of his strong suits.
