STEVE BOTES has been appointed national sales
manager of the Roadwing/ Saftainer section of the restructured Rennies Intermodal Services.
Formerly account manager at Spoornet's intermodal wholesale section, he fills a role that has been left vacant for the past year.
The restructuring of the Rennies operation delayed the filling of the post until the situation had been evaluated to see where it fitted into the new operation.
I will be responsible for sales on a national basis
and assist with certain marketing functions, particularly in research, promotions
and strategy, says Botes, who reports directly to marketing executive Brian McKerchar.
What I have to do now is to evaluate where we stand in the present markets and adjust this to our customer base. We are now offering a one-stop service linking Saftainer and Roadwing, and offering delivery from port of entry to door of delivery.
