Parliament has called on
Treasury and the Ministry
of Industry and Commerce
to expedite the revival of the
state-owned Zimbabwe Iron
and Steel Company (Zisco).
Speaker of parliament
Jacob Mudenda said last
week: “It is my fervent belief
that the steel industry is the
hub of accelerated industrial
development in our country.”
ZiscoSteel became defunct
eight years ago after a string of
operational challenges forced it
to close down.
