THE HIGHEST income-generating vegetable in the Eastern Cape is potatoes at R90.4 million, and the main income-recipients are in Maclear, Hankey and Komga. The second-highest income for vegetables comes from tomatoes (R43.5 million) where the main earners are East London, Kirkwood and Humansdorp. Other big income-earners are cabbages, carrots and cucumbers.
