AS THE falling rand creates even greater impetus for South Africa's export industry, last year's launch of a Gauteng Exporter of the Year award could not have been more timely. Main sponsors of the first event were the Johannesburg Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Standard Corporate and Merchant Bank. Co-sponsors were Maersk Sealand and the National Ports Authority.
