AT SPEEDY Overborder, efficiency and a hard-working staff have cemented the reputation of founder and owner Willie Stuart’s overnight consolidated service. “We have two trucks a day out of Jo’burg – generally Superlinks, but it depends on what is transported,” said Stuart from his office at the Matsapha industrial site near the main national highway. The trucks arrive full, and return empty. “Our trucks arrive, offload, and in two hours they turn around and go back,” Stuart reports. Meanwhile, local Speedy trucks rush off to deliver customers’ orders. “Everything is done in a short space of time. The warehouse is full in the morning, everything goes out, and it is empty by two,” said Stuart. Because some trucks run at night, and Swaziland’s border posts can close from eight to ten pm depending on the location, the company’s twoman driving crews must sleep in their cabs at the border. “We’re all looking forward to a 24-hour operating time at the borders. It has been promised, and it will make life easier and improve business,” said Stuart.
