South Sudan Custom Services (SSCS) and TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) late last week to support a customs reform development programme.
TMEA committed to provide financial and technical support to the SSCS, amounting to US$10.4 million, in its quest towards a customs modernisation programme.
Mikaya Modi Legge, director general of SSCS, said: “This support will go a long way in ensuring that our customs services have capacity for efficient and effective collection of revenues and especially non-oil revenues.”
