South Korea and China have overtaken Portugal as the leading exporters to Angola for the first quarter of 2015.
Citing a quick fact sheet from the Angolan National Statistics Institute, news agency Macauhub.com reported that South Korea, starting from a very low base, had managed to become the main supplier of goods to Angola.
In the first quarter of 2015, South Korea accounted for 21.5% of all Angola’s imports, followed by China with 16.8% and Portugal with 10.9%
In terms of Angola’s exports, China remained the main buyer, with Portugal as the sixth largest export market. South Korea is included in the “other” category.
