The Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a decrease in charges on the bunker contribution (BUC) and low sulphur surcharge (LSC) respectively. These new charges are both effective from January 1, 2016 (receipt of cargo date).
BUC on the USA/Canada/Mexico/South Africa trade will increase as follows:
·Dry containers
From USD 470/TEU to USD 445/TEU
·Reefer containers
From USD 630/TEU to USD 605/TEU
The LSC will decrease as follows:
·USA and Canada to South Africa
From USD 45/TEU to USD 40/TEU
·Mexico to South Africa
Unchanged at USD 10/TEU
·South Africa to USA, Canada and Mexico
From USD 45/TEU to USD 40/TEU
