SDV has upgraded its 1 000 m² warehouse
in Gaborone to cater for growth in highvalue
and project cargo, according to John
Masterten-Smith, general manager.
The investment includes a new CCTV
system, handling equipment and racking
to increase the capacity of the warehouse.
The warehouse storage area has been
expanded to 1 600 m², with additional
secure space in the surrounding yard.
This enables SDV in Botswana to
build on its experience in providing
full logistics services for Huawei
Technologies, which is rolling out
a wireless communication network
across Zimbabwe for Botswana
Telecommunications.
SDV is supporting Huawei projects in a
number of African countries.
The Gaborone operation prepares “daily
pick-ups” for field teams installing the
network, according to Masterten-Smith.
He moved to Gaborone earlier this year
after managing the SDV operations in
Ndola, Zambia.
