Despite tough economic conditions for the logistics industry, SDV South Africa, a division of Bollore Africa Logistics, has seen positive growth in its key service markets which include the Copper belt, Katanga region and Mozambique energy corridor. On the back of this growth, the Bollore group has invested in a 50000- sqm copper belt facility in Chingola, Zambia, an on-shore oil and gas logistics base in Pemba, Mozambique and a South African mega hub to be built in Johannesburg in the next two years. “After three years of successfully operating a weekly Pemba Air Express freighter service, SDV South Africa is further expanding its freighter services to include a weekly freighter to Lubumbashi to better serve the Katanga mining region in DRC,” said Jamie Anderson, regional air manager for the Bollore Group . “The Katanga Air Express freighter service will help provide a higher level of service and also greater global access via our Johannesburg air hub than is otherwise available in the Katanga market today,” he said. The Katanga Air Express cargo service complements SDV’s established crossborder road services which include an express truck and standard truck service to the Katanga region from South Africa.
