SCL offers special rates for cars and household effects on SA - Europe route

SPECIAL RATES for passengers who wish to travel with their cars or household effects in either direction between South Africa and Northern Europe are now available on Safmarine Container Lines vessels.
The rates are US$455 for a 6m container and US$910 for a 12m. Terminal handling charges at the ports of loading and discharge are additional, as are all other costs including customs duties.
Passengers travelling in Safmarine's 'Big Whites' - the container ships SA Helderberg, SA Sederberg, SA Waterberg and SA Winterberg - are eligible for the deal. The vessels accommodate 12 passengers each and collectively offer more than 30 voyage opportuniteis in both directions annually.
The special rates have been introduced in response to a number of enquiries we have received from passengers in SA and Europe who wish to use their own cars on holiday, and for people relocating to another country, Safmarine's passenger services manager Janet van de Vijver told FTW.
