A SATELLITE tracking system for transport operators, Orbcomm, has recently become available in Zimbabwe. The computerised package is distributed by DAE Communications.
Says a spokesman for the company: We don't have an earth station in southern Africa yet, but plan to have established one by early next year.
Transport operators in Zimbabwe lose up to R1 500 a day because they do not know where their trucks are. The cost of running Orbcomm is between R300 and R700 a month.
