Sanral gets R390m bailout

National Treasury, along with the Gauteng provincial government, will cover a R390-million annual revenue shortfall for the South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) for the next 22 years.

Sanral chief financial officer, Inge Mulder, said in a statement that the R390m would be adjusted for inflation and traffic growth every year, with the exact amount to be reflected in the Appropriation Billto be published with the finance minister’s budget speech next month.
