SA INDEPENDENT Liner
Services has confirmed
details of the three new
vessels to be deployed along
with the Taga Bay on the
line’s South Africa – West
Africa – Europe service.
(FTW August 31, 2007).
The 1100 teu
newcomers - the Orinoco
River, El Lobo and Vaal
River – will be chartered
for 24 months and will
be delivered between mid
October and the end of
November.
The Taga Bay, delivered
in Shanghai at the end of
August, is scheduled to
depart for South Africa in
the next week.
The expansion of the
fleet – which now totals
seven vessels – follows the
acquisition by Lonhro in July
of a 45% stake in the line.
