Saddling up thanks to ‘recycled’ containers

Schooling the minds of young learners beyond the classroom is paramount, with Safmarine ‘pedalling’ into action by donating seven ‘recycled’ shipping containers for the benefit of a less-privileged South African community. The container shipping line was at the Cape Town township of Khayelitsha outside Cape Town last week for the inauguration of the Velokhaya BMX Oval, surrounded by four schools. The aim of the Oval is to provide a ‘safe recreational space’ for township children after school and during long holidays, a place where they can have fun and learn new skills in a secure, supervised, environment.
