THE AERIAL corridor between SA and Entebbe just got busier following the inauguration of daily flights on the route by South African Airways using the newly launched Boeing 737-300. SAA first began flying into Uganda in 2000 with three flights a week, but upgraded this service to five in February this year. March 1 saw the start of the seventh weekly flight into Entebbe using the 737-300 with a belly capacity of 18 tonnes. “The increase in frequency is due to rising demand from both South Africa and Uganda, in keeping with the growing relationship between the two countries,” said Yogi Biriggwa, SAA country manager for Uganda and Rwanda. Flights will depart Entebbe at 06:15 and arrive in Johannesburg at 10:30, with return flights departing Johannesburg at 14:00 and arriving back in Entebbe at 18:10.
