Zimbabwe's trade deficit in the six months of the year to June 2015 rose to US$1.83 billion from US$1.76 billion last year, according to latest data from the Zimbabwe Statistics Agency (ZimStat) as reported by state-owned newspaper, The Herald.
Imports amounted to US$3.06 billion and exports stood at US$1.23 billion. According to ZimStat, South Africa remains the country’s leading trading partner. Zimbabwe imported goods and services worth US$203.3 million from SA, and exported goods worth US$111.2 million.
Zimbabwe’s total trade with Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries, including South Africa, stood at US$432 million.
