SA needs a long-term vision – Parsons

Now more than ever before South Africa needs to take a longterm view of its challenges and opportunities if it wants to position itself as a serious contender in the global market. According to Professor Raymond Parsons, deputy CEO of Business Unity South Africa (Busa), the uncertainty of world economies makes it imperative that one’s vision be long term based. “South Africa has built up a good reputation for sound macro policies. It is now time to look at the longrun economic performance of the country and that means we must start addressing issues such as our productivity, logistics, infrastructure and our competitiveness.”
