SOUTH AFRICAN manufacturing firms are reaping positive rewards at overseas trade shows as Corflex Engineering of Johannesburg found after a recent event in Canada. It landed the company a valuable export contract for its hydraulically-operated pinch valves.
These were specially designed for the mining industry. But those going off to Canada will be used in a tar-sand project. It follows orders the company has recently signed with mines in Zambia and Mali, while a contract for the supply of the equipment to mining operations in Australia is currently being negotiated.
The Corflex equipment is perceived to be superior to similar products made elsewhere in the world, according to Webber.
