SA and Iran firm up trade ties

SOUTH AFRICA and Iran signed a Customs Cooperation Agreement last week following a two-day meetinga in South Africa between the foreign affairs ministers of the two countries. The agreement is also expected to facilitate trade promotion. Iran intends to set up crude oil storage at Saldanha Bay in the Western Cape, according to BuaNews, with South Africa acting as a gateway for the Iranian petrochemical trade in southern Africa.
