The Road Freight Association has called for input from its members on the proposed amendments to the Road Traffic Act following a call for comments from Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele. Today (March 11) is D-day for comments to the RFA, after which the association will be in a position to assess the impact of the proposed amendments, spokesperson Gavin Kelly told FTW. While the motivation behind the changes is unclear at this stage, the proposed amendment to Regulation 237 for example, which places a limit on the permissible maximum combination mass, will clearly impact on profitability.
