Gauteng MEC for Roads
and Transport, Dr Ismail
Vadi, has launched a R150-
million road rehabilitation
project on the R511 northwest
of Johannesburg.
“The improved road will
facilitate the stimulation
of economic activities
and trigger economic
development between
Gauteng and the North
West province. It will serve
as a catalyst to equalise
the distribution of wealth
in the region as this is an
important freight route,”
said Vadi.
At the sod-turning ceremony to mark the start of
construction last Friday were, from the left, MMC Sheila
Senkubuge, Dr Ismail Vadi, City of Johannesburg councillor
Sam Mashola and a colleague.
