James Reddy has been appointed managing director of Safcor Panalpina, effective this month. He was previously MD of Rennies Ships Agency, part of the Bidfreight division of Bidvest. Reddy joined the Rennies Group in 1970 and worked his way up through the ranks. “Safcor Panalpina recently obtained ISO 9001:2008 accreditation, which is designed to raise the bar in terms of service delivery. It is currently working towards environmental management standard ISO 14001 accreditation, with various green initiatives taking place throughout the business. These include environmental management, cost and energy efficiencies,” Reddy told FTW. “The company is also investing in a number of cutting edge IT projects, as this is paramount to improving and facilitating the communication, integration and service levels our clients are accustomed to. It will position us well for our continued journey into the seamless supply chain of the future.” Reddy takes over from Anthony Dawe who was appointed acting MD following the resignation last year of Pete Williams.
