On 18 January 2023, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) advised that the Prohibited and Restricted Imports and Exports list had been updated, now requiring that tariff subheading 9401.61.10 (reclining seats, electrically operated) and tariff subheading 8413.70.25 (submersible pumps) need a Letter of Authority from the National Regulator of Compulsory Specifications (NRCS).
