On 16 October 2026, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) said it had updated the “Prohibited and Restricted Imports and Exports List” to include other mineral substances, classifiable under tariff subheading 2530.90, that are no longer subject to the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC) export control measures.
The full description of tariff subheading 2530.90 is “Salt; Sulphur; Earths and Stone; Plastering Materials, Lime and Cement: Mineral substances not elsewhere specified or included: Other.”
