WITH JUST a few months left to the end of her
tenure as Transnet group CEO, Maria Ramos refused
to be drawn on her future plans when questioned
at a press briefing in Johannesburg recently,
laughing off a suggestion that she was up for the job as CEO of Vodacom.
“I have a contract to fulfil and my style is to
work to my last hour of my last day.”
But it’s not about one person – the achievements
of an organisation are all about team work, she
added. On the question of a
possible successor, she was non-committal.
“You create a team across an organisation and
you create possibilities so that everyone feels they have the possibility for
something bigger. There are a number of very talented people in the organisation.”
