Radebe to talk at freight logistics expo

TRANSPORT MINISTER Jeff Radebe will offer his perspective on future plans to improve the efficiency of South Africa’s freight logistics at Freight Logistics South Africa Conference 2006 to be held on March 7-8 at Midrand Conference Centre. “The conference covers the successful implementation of the National Freight Logistics Strategy, offering possible solutions for an effective freight industry for the country,” says a spokesman for the organisers Trade Conferences International (TCI). Endorsed by The Railroad Association of South Africa, the programme is broadly based, including rail, road and sea as well as warehousing and supply chain management. An impressive speaker line-up includes the likes of Tau Morwe, CEO of South African Port Operations; John Thompson from Railroad Association of South Africa; Brenda Horne, MD of the Maputo Corridor Logistics Initiative; and Jane Barrett, the head of research at SATAWU.
