Qatar Airways buys four freighters at Paris Air Show

Qatar Airways has ordered four Boeing 777 freighters at the Paris Air Show along with 10 777-8X passenger planes, a deal valued at almost R60 billion at list prices.

This brings its total orders for the 777X family to 60, according to Airwise News.

The 777 freighter has a maximum payload of 103 000 kg (226 000 lb), and range of 4 900 nautical miles (9 070km) at maximum payload.

It is seen as a replacement for older freighters such as the Boeing 747-200F, McDonnel Douglas MD-10F and MD-11F.
