Projects team secures range of contracts

And according to Patrick K ohlstaedt, project manager Manica Group Namibia, the dedicated projects team has secured a diverse range of contracts. These include the shore-based logistics for the K udu gas fields, the export of copper concentrate from Zambia, the shipment of uranium ore and the importation and delivery of perishables such as potato seed to Zambia. His department is also involved in training initiatives for the Namibian freight forwarding industry and supports the various corridor initiatives. “By adding capacity and coordinating the services provided by the specialist departments in the Manica group, we are able to offer our customers competitive edge,” he says. The port of Walvis Bay is an essential part of the competitive mix, he adds. “Walvis Bay offers reliable service, fast turnaround times with no long queues in the roadstead or delays due to wind. There is also very little pilferage and no hijacking. “Importantly, the port is also customer focused. The authorities will go out of their way to accommodate their customers,” he says.
